Thanks for all your work on the design Maria, I love it! The lamp collection with your textile design is the best seller, second to the bright coloured one. It's such a beautiful print.

FAQs
What is surface pattern design?
Surface pattern design involves creating repeating or non-repeating visual patterns that can be applied to different surfaces such as textiles, wallpaper, packaging, stationery, or product design.
The goal is to develop patterns that are both visually distinctive and suitable for the intended material or application.
What types of projects can surface patterns be used for?
Surface patterns can be used in a wide range of applications including textiles, fashion, home goods, packaging, stationery, and interior design. Each pattern is developed with the final context in mind to ensure it works effectively at different scales and formats.
Do you have experience in working for the fashion industry?
Yes. I worked for two years as a full-time textile designer in collaboration with a company based in Inner Mongolia and a fashion designer based in Barcelona. during that time we developed 432 textile designs for international fashion labels such as Zara, Mango Massimo Dutti, El Corte Inglés, Bimba & Lola and Uterqüe amngst others.
Can you design seamless repeating patterns for textile production?
Yes. Patterns can be created as seamless repeats so they can be printed continuously on fabric or other materials without visible breaks. The design is carefully structured to ensure the repeat works smoothly across large surfaces.
Do you create custom illustrations for your pattern designs?
Yes. Many patterns begin with hand-drawn or digitally illustrated elements that are then developed into a repeating pattern system. This allows each design to have a distinctive character while remaining flexible for different applications.
Which illustration style are you specialised in?
I use hand-drawn line work illustration for botanials and orgaic elements, and precise vector illustration.
What files will I receive for production?
Final artwork is typically delivered as high-resolution or vector files prepared for production, depending on the requirements of the printer or manufacturer. This ensures the pattern can be used reliably across different materials and scales.
