On July 4th, 2024 my partner and I celebrated our sixteenth anniversary together. For this year, the concept of my skateboard deck designs is “urban scribers” and their omnipresence around the streets of Barcelona, where we are currently located.
I researched graffiti around our neighbourhood in Sants-Montjuïc and Hostafrancs, absorbing the energy and joy they communicate, and building a design that reflects the vibrancy and creative-hub soul of this city.
I started with a paper sketch and then moved to Procreate to polished its forms. Once both lettering designs were ready, I started painting by hand using Posca pens, gouache paint and Pentel Touch Sign Brush pens. The last image above is the final result.
